I know I often say that choosing the POW is getting harder, but even in the relatively light past week (only(?) 275 images to choose from!) I challenge anyone to pick out a single image that stands head and shoulders above the rest. In addition to the normal criteria I have had to take into account that the winning image will now be reproduced as a poster print and while there were many high quality images this week that were most deserving of the POW title, my final decision came down simply to what I thought would make a stunning poster.

And so this weeks award goes to another newcomer, Kernoroller (Aaron). Very well done Aaron. This image is all about impact, everything about it is bold and in your face and it quite literally jumps out at you and demands your attention. The one thing that can transform any image into a great picture is always light, everything else has a part to play but if the light is poor, then the image will fail. Here Aaron has shot in storm light, which will always create drama, but he has not allowed that to compromise the exposure, resulting in a crisp and slightly harsh impression that suits the subject matter perfectly.

This weeks honorable mentions go to the Badman, nearly all of whose images were in the shortlist, Blu Ann for a fantastic interpretation of a game of rugby and finally to Martinthehat for his very original lily. There were far too many more to mention and so congratulations to you all.
