Photo Montage Project

The subject of this week’s project can be absolutely anything!

No, I haven’t given up on you guys yet!! There’s more:

I want you to choose a subject and make it your study - really explore it and take a number of photos that may not mean anything on their own but together tell a story or make a complete picture of what it is that you’ve chosen.

The world’s your oyster with this project and it will allow you to take photos of your favourite thing/place/person/event – you name it, or even just something that you think would make an interesting study.

You can take photos of it at different times of day, take macros, or photos from different angles etc… or perhaps most interestingly, all of the above and more!

I would suggest that you keep a level of uniformity within your images as it will help with the final effect (read on and all will become clear)

Now here’s the fun part!!

Once you have a collection of photos, choose a handful (I’d suggest 5, 6 or 7) and use your preferred photo editor to make up a collage of your study!

If your unsure of what exactly to produce, here’s an example from Iain (COUNTRYFAN) of a Montage of HDR images of Old Stone Bridge, Stirling.

Sounds like a good project Nathan. Won't be able to take part myself at this stage because I've still not sorted out an editing package but I'm looking forward to viewing the other entries.

anybody know which version of photoshop was done in as there are a few differances in cs3. ctr+alt+g don't work and the alt+backspace don't, had to use screen mode in blending to get the seperation and completely start afresh with a black canvas to get the effect. managed a couple anyway will upload them later.
