Facial Scrub and Make Up

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
Open up your photo in PS and duplicate layer - Ctrl J

Go to the channels mixer and select the red channel.

Select all - Ctrl A - Copy - Ctrl C. Reselect the RGB Channel and go back to the Layers channel. Paste - Ctrl V. Change the layer to luminosity. It will now look a little odd.

Go back to Channels and Ctrl left click on the RGB channel, this will select only part of the image. It will still look a little over cook. So... go to image - adjustments - levels and move the midtone slider to the right until it looks more natural. You can also change the opacity down if needed.

Thats the facial scrub done.

Now for the make up layer.

Add a new layer. Select all - Ctrl A. Go to Edit copy merged - paste - Ctrl V.

Go to filters - other - high pass. I choose 9 pixels.

Go to filters - blur - gaussian blur. I choose 3 pixels.
Invert the image - Ctrl I. Change layer to overlay.

Change the layer to a layer mask and fill the mask with black, this will undo the last stage.

Now select paintbrush and use white to redo the blur layer where you need eg only on the skin. Alt left click on the mask to see where you have been.

And the final product.
