Gosnap Photography Forums Tutorials Reviews Photos: Saving from RAW to JPEG Saving from RAW to JPEG ================================================================================ Shaun on 23 February, 2008 03:25:00 Saving from RAW to JPEG Open up the RAW file. In this case its CR2, because I use a canon 400d, but i can be a number of different file types, depending on the camera you use. Right click the raw file and select "Open with Photoshop". This will then open up the raw file in a window like this. Edit the raw with the sliders as you want and then click "Open Copy". This will open up a copy of the image in the normal Photoshop window. make any further changes to the images if you want (e.g. a border). Then go File >>> Save as... Select where you want to save the file on your computer. Then select the file type. in this case we are choosing Jpeg, but if you want to keep a higher quality (meaning bigger file size) i personally would save as a TIFF, e.g. if you were going to print the image on a large scale. Jpeg is the most common form of high compression and is the most widely accepted image format. Then click Save This screen comes up if you save as JPEG, basically its asking you what quality you want to save at, and if you want full wuality, bring the slider all the way to the right hand side. Click OK There we have... a saved JPEG.
