HiLite Backgrounds
The HiLite backgrounds range allows the photographer to work in a way that was extremely difficult to achieve in the past, ‘High Key’ photography on location and in restrictive spaces. By rear lighting the white background itself there is no longer a need to use a background light behind the subject. Furthermore, because the background is actually illuminated it means the subject can stand virtually right in front of it without casting a shadow. The HiLite backgrounds also works as a large rear softbox and illuminates the subject as well, meaning you can use just one other flash head to light the subject from the front. What’s more, the whole thing is collapsible.

Lastolite HiLite, what can i say, apart from the best thing ive ever bought, apart from my camera LOL. This is exactly what ive been looking for, too take my portrait to the next level, previously id been using a pop up cloth backdrop, that gave me lots of creases and ruffles and sometimes gave a less than satisfactory standard. Not anymore because the HiLite is made of vinyl its easy cleaned. If you purchase the train, although not cheap at £70 for the 6x7 one, its great and there no need to tape it down, if shooting animals it wipes clean with a cloth, just like vinyl backdrops. As i said before, its easy to use, just pop 2 flash heads into it, 1 at either side and face them to the back of the HiLite for even light distribution, then use your other lights 2 stops less for the perfect high key, every time.
